Roland TD20SBK V-Pro Series
V-Pro Series V-Drum Electronic Drum Kit

"The V-Pro kit is awesome. I played the older version for awhile which was good, but these are even better!" - Jeff, NC

Roland RD700SX Demo

Roland's top-of-the-line V-Drum kits have turned many heads (and ears), and have lured thousands of drummers into the electronic world. The new TD-20SBK V-Pro kit has raised the bar, and is sure to lure even more musicians into V-Drums. Simply put, this kit is amazing.

It all starts with the new TD20 drum sound module. It's hard to think of anything that ISN'T packed inside this thing. Besides the remarkable new tones (500 new sounds), the TD20 has enhanced V-Editing which allows you to change the tone and color of your sounds in amazing ways. For example, while you will physically play with one kick beater, you can adjust the tone inside the TD20 to sound as if it were played with a felt, wood, or plastic beater. The possibilities are endless! For recording, the TD-20 has 8 group faders for adjusting sound volumes, and there are individual compressor and EQ's that can be placed on each sound. A mastering function is included, and there are 10 analog outputs and a SP/DIF digital output for getting your sound to your recorder.

The pads themselves are also extraordinary. You'll receive 5 dual trigger mesh pads, 3 swinging V-cymbals, a great new V-Kick (with double pedal support), and the incredible new VH-12 V-Hi-Hat. This new electronic hi-hat actually works like a real hi-hat...there are two pads that open and close, and it provides a natural feel.

It's hard to get excited about a drum stand, but the beautiful new MDS-20BK is a work of art. First, its black color matches that of the pads and cymbals. Second, all of the cables are snaked inside the tubing for an extremely clean look. And finally, it's more durable than ever, and easier to adjust. Heavy duty t-fittings and quick-release hardware helps you when making adjustments.

Ready to play? Here's what you can expect. The TD-20S-BK ships to you in 3 boxes. You'll set up the stand, mount all of the pads and cymbals, connect the cables, plug into some power, and you're ready to begin. There are a few things you'll need in addition to your kit. Because your preferences may be different from another drummer, Roland has chosen not to include a kick drum pedal, snare stand, or hi-hat stand. See our suggestions below. Also, you can listen through optional headphones, or you can plug into an optional sound system. We have many different headphone and speaker systems to choose from. Again, check out our suggestions listed below.

The Advantages of V-Drums (and all electronic kits). It all starts when you see the flexibility. Tired of setting up an acoustic set complete with microphones, mic stands, and just dealing with the pure bulk of an acoustic kit? Most folks are, and the V-Drums solve all of those problems. The pads are light-weight, the sounds are extremely realistic, and there are no mics...just a simple stereo output (or multiple outputs, should you want additional mixing flexibility). Speaking of sounds, wish you had a conga set off to your side? What about a synth drum? Vibes? Electric bass? With the TD-20S V-Drum set, it's a matter of turning the dial. As a drummer, you've never had so much control, and you've never been more valuable to a musical project before.

Then, there's practicing. Maybe you live in a college apartment. Or maybe you're all grown up now, with kids sleeping two rooms away from you. Your acoustic set might as well be left in the case. They're just too darned loud! With V-Drums, you can still set up, hit them as hard as you want, and be the only one listening through stereo headphones. Sure the pads still have some residual noise, but it's minimal. Bottom line, you can hit hard and loud and nobody will know. Just don't start practicing your vocals...which might be hard to do when you play along with the many built-in accompaniment patterns available in the TD-brain. Jazz, swing, pop, Latin, rock...there are great grooves that will get you playing in settings you only had a chance to do when there were others practicing with you.

The applications are endless. Replace your acoustic drum set, or mix some electronic drums in with your acoustic set. Use the V-Drums for practicing at home. Churches and bands love V-Drum's because you can actually have some control over the volume...the drummer can hit like there's no tomorrow, but the volume can remain tolerable in those settings that require quieter levels. Record with V-Drums...no more mics or isolation booths. No matter how you use V-Drums, you'll wonder how you got along without them.
