The successor to the popular PX-150, the Privia PX-160 utilizes Casio's famous AiR Sound Source and its remarkable Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action II keyboard. With several enhancements in sounds and features over the previous generation, the PX-160 continues to provide world-class features and style at an unbeatable price.
Award Winning Grand Piano Sound
Casio's proprietary Multi-dimensional "AiR" sound source (Acoustic and intelligent Resonator) provides unmatched realism and detail. This engine provides seamless dynamics for a remarkably expressive and powerful performance. For further realism a Damper Resonance simulator authentically replicates the nuances generated by pressing the damper pedal. The result is an unprecedented, natural-sounding digital reproduction of a grand piano's playing and sound properties.
The PX-160 features Casio's Scaled Hammer Action II keybed. "Hammer action" means that the piano's keyboard is weighted with small hammers in order to provide realistic touch sensitivity, just like that of a real grand piano. "Scaled" means that the weight of the keys decreases from the low to the high keys, just like an acoustic piano. This action features simulated Ebony and Ivory textured keys for a incredible feel and it's three sensors capture the dynamics of a performance with unparalleled speed and accuracy.
Improved Speaker System
The PX-160 features an improved 8w x 8w speaker system which delivers its remarkable piano sounds with the richness it deserves. This speaker system is open to the front but also ported to the back which provides remarkable sound when the PX-160 is placed against a wall but also allows it to easily be used in a classroom or other environment where the sound will be projected towards your audience. Far superior to other brands whose speaker systems are aimed mostly downward.
The PX-160 also features newly developed string ensemble sounds. These rich stereo strings sound wonderful by themselves or layered with the PX-160's grand pianos, electric pianos, harpsichord and more. The electric pianos have also been updated providing some dynamic sounds from Casio's award winning PX-5S stage piano.
Stereo Line Outputs
Another improvement over its predecessor; the PX-160 now features 1/4" line outputs on the rear panel. This is perfect for those who are performing with the instrument, or for anyone who wants to use other amplification.
Elegant Look for the Home
The PX-160's redesigned chassis looks great in your home, especially when combined with the optional furniture style stand and triple pedal board (sold separately). For a great deal on the PX-160 and accessories for the home check out our Privia PX-160 BUNDLES.
