Seven is the the result of years of research into sound design and quality electronics and has been assembled with first-class craftsmanship. Portable, elegant, lightweight, one of the most revolutionary stage pianos of the modern day, complete with carrying case, metal legs and accessories, Crumar Seven works like a digital instrument but feels like an analog, electro-acoustic instrument and redefines the concept of the stage piano.

Seven's main focus is the electric piano, featuring the most important electric piano sounds that have made music history for several decades: Tine Electric Piano, Reed Electric Piano, Clavi Electric Piano, DX Digital Electric Piano, MKS Digital Electric Piano and Vibraphone. All sounds are based on realtime synthesis models, various types of synthesis specifically engineered to thoroughly reproduce a particular type of sound. Naturally, there's a physical model of a grand piano, too, for a total of nine different synthesis engines. There's even a sample playback engine for sampled pianos and other sounds.
Seven's effects are outstanding, with a global reverb alongside two multi-effect engines offering phaser, flanger, chorus, tremolo, auto-wah, pedal wah, auto-panner and delay. In addition to the two multi-effect slots there is a global amp simulator with overdrive and a 3-band EQ.
As you can see, Seven is built into a wooden carrying case and has a shape reminiscent of some of the most famous electric pianos of the 70s. This kind of design was almost obligatory back in the day, as it was practical both for musicians to transport and for the manufacturer to assemble and was necessary to hold a very heavy structure made of several big moving mechanical parts. At some point the design concept of a portable piano gradually changed, making the instruments smaller and lighter to the point where some modern digital pianos are small enough to be carried in a bag. But do they look good on a stage? Do they feel classy, solid, comfortable like an old electric piano did?
Illuminated RGB encoders
These novel, multi-function encoders can be used to perform three different operations: set parameter values, switch between two different parameters to be controlled or turn effects on or off. Setting values is obviously accomplished simply by turning the encoder; less obvious might be their twin push functions, with different changes made via either a slow push or a quick push.
Built-in wi-fi and editor app
Seven has an elegant and simple control layout, but under the hood there are many other parameters available for customization. You can access the onboard wi-fi access point to call up the web-based editor from any smartphone, tablet or computer. In addition to some global settings like tuning, pedal polarity, expression pedal functions and MIDI CC assignments, the editor offers dozens of parameters that allow you to sculpt the behavior of all the modeled pianos and effects. This is truly the best of both worlds: a simple knob-and-button-based interface for no-nonsense control while performing and a deep software interface ready to tweak using the phone in your pocket.
Seven is easy to transport and assemble: simply carry the instrument to the gig inside the sturdy wooden case, remove the lid, attach the included legs, plug in power, audio cables and pedals and you're good to go! If you're looking for a premium stage piano that gives you that classic keyboard sound and vibe, look no further than Crumar Seven.
