Future Retro MIDI Bus MIDI Interface Module
Future Retro MIDI Bus was designed to be a MIDI interface for a eurorack system, more specifically to offer MIDI inputs and outputs for Future Retro's Trax performance sequencer module. This device provides opto-isolation of the MIDI input and buffers all MIDI signals.
MIDI Bus provides MIDI in, out and thru inputs and outputs on 1/8" TRS jacks; three 1/8" to 5-pin DIN MIDI cables are included. These MIDI breakout cables conform to the TRS MIDI B Spec Class, supported by a growing list of manufacturers including Arturia, Novation and 1010 Music devices.
MIDI Bus uses the eurorack power bus cable to receive and transmit MIDI at the +3.3V standard. In order to do this, MIDI Bus repurposes what the eurorack standard defines as the INT GATE line of the power bus for MIDI IN signals and the INT CV line of the power bus for MIDI OUT signals.
To prevent conflicts with other signals that may be using these lines of the power bus, we recommend using the special MIDI Bus power cable included with this module or the optional Future Retro Flying Bus power cable (sold separately) when using MIDI Bus with the Trax module or any other products using this new MIDI standard. The MIDI Bus power cable included with the MIDI Bus module will allow only a single device in your system to send and receive MIDI.
The optional Flying Bus power cable (sold separately) allows multiple connected modules to share MIDI data with one another while still receiving proper power from the system, without connecting MIDI signals to other modules in your system.
