What is Prop 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, that enables California residents to make informed decisions about protecting themselves from exposure to chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Why was I brought to this page?

In the case of consumer products that may be sold in or shipped to California, manufacturers are required to provide a warning if they are aware or believe that one or more listed chemicals is present in the product, even in minute levels. Kraft Music will then post that warning on the product page so that you can make an informed decision.

WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Phithalete ester, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Does every product require a Prop 65 warning?

A manufacturer or retailer may also choose to provide a warning simply based on its knowledge, or assumption, about the presence of a listed chemical. In other words, it's possible that some products may have a warning for no other reason than the manufacturer has decided to play it safe in the event that listed chemicals are present at any level.
