This mahogany-top edition of the Baby Taylor will yield a slightly darker, earthier tone than its spruce top sibling. Baby Body Shape - A 3/4 scale Dreadnought, the Baby Taylor is designed to yield a ton of volume for its small size. A layered sapele back is pressed into a slight arch, providing strength and helping produce the Baby's full, rich tone. Tropical Mahogany Top - As a top wood, mahogany produces a natural compression, so it won't yield as quick a response as a spruce-top guitar will. A mahogany-top guitar will produce strong fundamentals, with clear and direct focus. It might be characterized as having a woody, dry tone.
