Tone
CN29 offers a highly detailed acoustic portrait, employing Kawai's proprietary Progressive Harmonic Imaging sampling technology to ensure smooth tonal transitions across the keyboard and throughout the entire dynamic range. Harmonic Imaging is a blend of technology and techniques aimed at producing a realistic recreation of Kawai's 9-foot concert grand piano.
Touch
The class-leading Responsive Hammer III keyboard action on CN29 recreates the exceptional touch of an acoustic grand piano with its realistic movement and rigid 'springless' design working together to provide a smooth, natural piano playing experience. A triple-sensor key detection system enhances responsiveness and accuracy.
Ivory Touch key surfaces
CN29 features Kawai's highly-regarded Ivory Touch key surfaces. This finely-textured material gently absorbs fingertip perspiration and oils to avoid slipping and provide greater playing control. Moisture is absorbed without dirt or grease permeating the key surfaces, allowing them to be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Superior sound
CN29 features a premium speaker and audio system, delivering improved tonal clarity and superior sound. Lower-range frequencies are delivered through the underside of the instrument, while mid and high frequencies are projected outward via top-mounted speakers, closely mirroring the sound projection characteristics of an acoustic piano.
Song recorder
The recorder on the CN29 allows up to three songs to be stored in internal memory and played back at the touch of a button. These recordings can serve as convenient self-assessment tools for players of all skill levels.
Bluetooth
In addition to standard USB and MIDI ports, the CN series also boasts integrated Bluetooth MIDI technology, allowing the digital piano to communicate with supported smart devices wirelessly. Once paired with a phone, tablet or laptop, CN Series owners can easily expand the instruments' functionality with a wide range of education, performance and scoring apps. A dedicated Kawai Virtual Technician control app is also freely available, providing an enjoyable way to learn about and adjust various acoustic piano characteristics from an attractive touch interface without the need for additional adaptors or cables.
Concert Magic
This exclusive feature lets anyone enjoy the thrill of playing the piano, even if you've never played before. Concert Magic is an intelligent, interactive system that makes playing songs incredibly simple and fun: all you need to do is tap any key and Concert Magic will take care of playing the correct notes. You get to control the song's rhythm and expression, which are the other two elements of playing music. Lessons and exercises
In addition to Alfred Publishing's Basic Piano Course 1, Premier Course 1 and Adult Course 1 lessons, CN29 comes with the Chopin Walzer (1-19) lessons book built in. CN29 also includes printed music and recordings for time-tested finger exercises such as scales, arpeggios and Hanon songs.
Virtual Technician
A skilled piano technician can personalize an acoustic piano's sound and touch response. Kawai's exclusive Virtual Technician app does the same for the CN29 digital piano.
Grand Feel Pedal System
CN29 features three pedals: soft, sostenuto, and damper (with half-damper capability). Kawai's Grand Feel Pedal System reproduces the individual weighting of each of the three pedals of the Kawai EX concert grand piano.
Adjustable music rest
As with a grand piano, the viewing angle of CN29's music rest can be adjusted to suit the performer's playing position or laid flat to provide a level surface for notating scores.

Kawai CN, CA, CS, and CP models are covered by Kawai’s five (5) year limited warranty. This warranty covers digital piano models CN, CA, CS and CP against defects in materials or workmanship for five (5) years from the date of purchase. Kawai will attempt to perform service at the location of the instrument. However, if this is not reasonably feasible, then You will be responsible for any installation or removal charges and for any initial shipping charges if the instrument(s) must be shipped for warranty service. However, Kawai will pay the return shipping charges to your location within the USA or Canada if the repairs are covered by the warranty. Freight Delivery Service
In order to properly protect larger and heavier products (instances where the package is too large for standard UPS or FedEx ground service), we ship those products with one of our Freight Delivery carriers of choice.
- You'll be provided with tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving our facility.
- The carrier’s website will allow you to track the order, schedule a delivery date, and schedule a delivery window.
- Most deliveries take place on weekdays (Monday through Friday) within standard business hours and will require a signature.
- Please allow 7-10 business days for these shipments to be delivered. In some cases, additional transit time is necessary. It's worth the wait!

What about assembly?
While these services do not include assembly, our knowledgeable staff of Sales Advisors can talk you through the easy and quick process. With some simple instructions and the occasional screwdriver, you're all set to go. For digital pianos, you are generally only putting together the stand itself. With the help of a friend, you then place the piano portion on top of the stand and secure it with the provided screws. Can I ship to Alaska or Hawaii?
We can absolutely make that happen for you. Due to the added costs of shipping to these destinations, these orders do not qualify for the free shipping promotions we frequently run.
